Work is underway in Azerbaijan to develop various financing methods for mandatory health insurance, Zaur Aliyev, Chairman of the State Agency for Mandatory Health Insurance, said on the second day of the Azerbaijan International Investment Forum (AIIF 2025) in Baku, Report informs.
"It's difficult to rely on a single model. The state provides funding, but sustainable financing could be achieved through new methods," he said.
Aliyev emphasized the importance of reducing the need for Azerbaijani citizens to seek medical treatment abroad:
"We aim to create a healthcare system that meets local needs. To do this, we must work closely with all stakeholders to deliver improved services."
