New grandstand installed in Baku ahead of Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix

A new grandstand with a capacity of 678 spectators has been installed in Baku ahead of the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, pushing total grandstand capacity on the city circuit past 21,000 seats, Report informs, citing the Baku City Circuit Operations Company.

The operations company noted that the infrastructure was expanded to accommodate growing ticket demand among local and international fans.

The new "City" Grandstand is located opposite the Azerbaijan State Academic Musical Theater. Its unique positioning will allow fans to watch Formula 1 cars tackle two parallel high-speed sections of the track simultaneously.

Consequently, total grandstand capacity along the Baku City Circuit has crossed the 21,000-spectator threshold.

Company officials added that to match the year-on-year surge in fan interest, four new grandstands have been erected over the past three years, expanding overall seating capacity by more than 6,000 places.

During the 2025 Azerbaijan Grand Prix race weekend, total attendance exceeded 90,000 visits.

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix is scheduled to take place on September 25–27.
