Marshals begin duties ahead of Azerbaijan Grand Prix

Marshals for the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix have officially begun their duties ahead of the upcoming race, Report informs.

With the world's fastest drivers set to take to the streets of Baku tomorrow, the team responsible for ensuring their safety is already in place. This year, around 1,500 marshals will be tasked with maintaining safety throughout the event.

Early this morning, marshals departed from their camps at the Athletes' Village and were stationed at their respective posts along the Baku City Circuit. They are now undergoing final preparations for all possible race-day scenarios.

Marshals are divided into various functional groups, including fire marshals, flag marshals, track marshals, and other support teams. While each group has its own specific duties, they all share one common goal: to ensure a safe and seamless racing experience for both drivers and fans.

Today, marshals walked the track to familiarize themselves with their stations, received final briefings, and participated in simulation drills. Each role has been clearly defined in advance to ensure the highest level of safety.

Formula 1 marshals operate on a volunteer basis, not just in Azerbaijan, but around the world. Many of them join out of passion and love for motorsport, seeing their role as a sign of dedication rather than a career.

Without the precision, discipline, and courage of these unsung heroes, Formula 1 would not be possible. Thanks to their quiet efforts, drivers can race at full speed and fans can enjoy the thrill of the sport in a safe environment.

The Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix will be held on September 19–21 in the heart of Baku.
