A new record was set during the Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix qualifying session in Baku, marked by multiple interruptions and extreme weather conditions.
According to Report, the session was repeatedly halted due to difficult weather and several driver errors, resulting in six red flags being shown throughout the qualifying period.
The session lasted approximately two hours, making it one of the longest and most disrupted in recent F1 history. This surpasses the previous record for red flags during qualifying - five - seen in São Paulo (2023) and Imola (2022).
