Zhaparov hails Azerbaijan alliance treaty as historic milestone

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov has described the signing of the Treaty on Allied Relations with Azerbaijan as a historic event, Report's correspondent informs from Kyrgyzstan.

Speaking at a joint press statement with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Zhaparov said the agreement marked a new stage in Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani cooperation.

"An important outcome of today's talks was the signing of the Treaty on Allied Relations. This is truly a historic event, marking a new phase of Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani cooperation," he said.

Zhaparov noted that the two sides also signed a substantial package of bilateral documents covering energy, transport, cybersecurity, education, financial market regulation, and the circulation of precious metals.

He added that the leaders welcomed the steady development of trade and economic cooperation, as well as the continued growth in bilateral trade turnover.

"We agreed to continue creating favorable conditions for expanding business ties and implementing joint investment projects," the Kyrgyz president said.
