Yalchin Rafiyev highlights momentum in global climate talks

Within the framework of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Fourth Climate Week 4 and, in parallel, the Baku Climate Action Week 2026 (BCAW 2026), discussions were held between Azerbaijan, Brazil, Türkiye, and Australia.

According to Report, Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev announced this in his recent post on X.

"During UN Climate Week 4 in Baku, representatives of the COP29 Azerbaijani Presidency, COP30 Brazilian Presidency, incoming COP31 Turkish Presidency and COP31 Australian Presidency of Negotiations came together to discuss progress and ensure continuity across key Presidency-led mandates and initiatives - including the Belem Mission to 1.5.

Carrying momentum from one COP to the next is how we turn negotiated outcomes into implementation and keep climate action moving forward," reads the post.

As part of BCAW 2026, 68 events were organized, with nearly 2,700 participants registered from more than 140 countries.
