White House press secretary shares interview by Azerbaijan's ambassador to US

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt shared on X the extensive interview given by Azerbaijan's ambassador to the US, Khazar Ibrahim, to The Washington Examiner, one of the country's leading media outlets, Report informs.

The interview published today was titled “Azerbaijani ambassador praises Trump as ‘true peacemaker’ after historic Azerbaijan-Armenia deal."

In an interview with journalist Brady Knox, the ambassador said that US President Donald Trump played a crucial role in the historic agreement reached between Azerbaijan and Armenia, calling him a "true peacemaker."

The diplomat provided detailed information about the historic document signed on August 8. He noted that the document, which has already been initially approved by the foreign ministers, lays the foundation for the agreement to be signed in the future.

According to the agreement, the corridor to be created under US control will open up new development opportunities for both Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as pave the way for direct trade relations between Azerbaijan and its strategic partner Türkiye.

In his interview, Ibrahim emphasized the Trump administration's determination to bring peace and development to the region.

"President Trump is a true leader, a peacemaker. That is why we believed that there would be more peace and progress not only in our region, but also in the whole world. We have seen the result," the ambassador noted.
