The US State Department has not confirmed Armenia's allegations of "ethnic cleansing" in Karabakh, Spokesperson Matthew Miller told a press briefing, Report informs.
According to him, the US takes allegations of ethnic cleansing, genocide, or other atrocities seriously: “But as always, a determination regarding genocide or ethnic cleansing is based on a deliberate, evidence-based process. It’s not something I can speak to with any degree of finality from this podium.”
Miller also noted that his country welcomes the UN team mission to Karabakh. He added that the US would encourage Azerbaijan and Armenia to return to peace talks.
