The holding of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku is an indicator of Azerbaijan's growing international authority, successful diplomatic activity and contribution to the global development agenda.
Report informs that Vusal Huseynov, Chief of Azerbaijan's State Migration Service, told journalists on the sidelines of WUF13.
According to him, one of the forum's areas of work is the topic of "Migration and Cities."
"It was noted at the event that today's discussions are a continuation of the International Migration Review Forum held two weeks ago at the UN headquarters in New York," he said.
The SMS chief stressed that urbanization processes in the world are rapidly gaining momentum.
"It is forecast that 70% of the world's population will live in cities by 2050," Huseynov said.
He added that events in this area are planned to be held in the future as well.
"We will try to constantly keep migration issues in focus on international urban planning platforms," he said.
