Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan mull increasing trade turnover

Uzbek Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov has met with Azerbaijani Ambassador Rashad Mammadov, Report informs referring to a statement from the press service of the Uzbek Ministry of Investment.

The two sides discussed the dynamics of bilateral trade and investment cooperation.

"Special attention was paid to the preparation of bilateral documents aimed at further expanding trade and investment cooperation, including a roadmap for implementing the agreements reached and a program to increase mutual trade turnover to $1 billion by 2030," reads the statement.

According to the Uzbek side, trade between the two countries reached $307.3 million in 2025 (an increase of 14.6%), and $170.3 million in January-June 2026 (an increase of 30.8%).

The meeting participants also discussed organizational matters for the 4th Uzbek-Azerbaijani Interregional Forum, which will take place on August 22 in Tashkent and will serve as a platform for expanding direct contacts between the regions and businesses of the two countries.

Following the meeting, further steps were identified to increase trade, promote investment projects, and develop interregional ties.
