UN Secretary General welcomes Azerbaijani, Armenian leaders' meeting to be held in US

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres welcomes the trilateral meeting to be held tomorrow in Washington between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan with US President Donald Trump, Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, told Report.

According to Haq, the UN has always supported and encouraged all progress towards full normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

"In particular, the steps taken in March towards agreeing on a draft peace treaty between the two countries were important in this regard. Secretary General Guterres positively views and welcomes tomorrow's meeting between the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan with President Donald Trump," he emphasized.
