UN official: Documents on women's housing provision will be adopted at WUF13

Within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), the adoption of documents on providing women with safe housing and taking gender equality into account is planned, stated the United Nations (UN) Deputy Secretary-General and Chair of the UN Sustainable Development Group, Amina Mohammed, during the WUF13 in Baku, Report informs.

According to her, crises and their impacts on women must be taken into account in shaping urban life:

"Without strong cities, it is impossible to ensure women's rights. Therefore, housing must be made accessible for women."

Mohammed added that this topic is also being widely discussed at WUF13, and the adoption of documents towards its resolution has been envisaged.
