UN, Azerbaijan discuss strengthening cooperation on climate issues

Mukhtar Babayev, Representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Climate Issues, met with UN Secretary General António Guterres in London, according to Report.
"Pleased to meet with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on the margins of London Climate Action Week 2026," Babayev said in a post on X.
The sides exchanged views on advancing the global climate agenda through the implementation of COP29 outcomes and preparations for COP31 to be held in Türkiye.
"Also exchanged views on accelerating methane mitigation, scaling climate finance, and strengthening international cooperation to turn climate commitments into tangible results," the post reads.
