Azerbaijani companies are showing strong interest in participating in reconstruction projects across Ukraine and view the country as a long-term strategic economic partner, Ukrainian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Yuriy Husyev said in an interview with the Interfax-Ukraine agency, Report informs.
"Azerbaijani business views Ukraine not only as a source of new opportunities during the recovery period, but also as a long-term economic strategic partner," Husyev noted.
According to the ambassador, the primary interest of Azerbaijani business is concentrated in energy, mining, critical infrastructure reconstruction, construction, agribusiness, logistics, transport, as well as digital technologies and telecommunications.
Husyev also emphasized that Azerbaijan's experience in restoring and developing the infrastructure of Karabakh is of significant interest to Ukraine.
Azerbaijan is already providing practical assistance to Ukraine in restoring damaged infrastructure, the diplomat noted. In particular, with the support of Azerbaijan and SOCAR (Azerbaijan's state oil company), a polyclinic and the Irpin Humanitarian Lyceum "Linguist," named after Academician Zarifa Aliyeva, have been restored.
"Joint work is currently underway on the implementation of four new social projects for the Irpin community," Husyev stated.
He added that promising areas of bilateral cooperation include establishing joint ventures for processing grain and oilseed crops, food production, expanding agricultural export logistics, irrigation systems, and agricultural technology.
"In the logistics and transport sector, given the active development of the Middle Corridor, Azerbaijani companies are interested in expanding transport capabilities between Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. Ukraine should become an important link in this route once Black Sea logistics resume full operations," the ambassador emphasized.
Furthermore, the diplomat highlighted potential collaboration in digital technology and telecommunications, citing the activities of NEQSOL Holding and the development of Vodafone Ukraine as key examples.
