Ukraine has about 113,000 missing persons due to war, Lubinets says

Ukraine currently has approximately 113,000 missing persons, including children, military personnel, and civilians, as a result of the war, said Dmytro Lubinets, the Ukrainian Parliament's Commissioner for Human Rights, Report informs.

Speaking during a panel session on the second day of the 4th International Conference within the Baku Dialogue on Missing Persons, he noted that these individuals have been officially registered in the country's unified register of persons missing under special circumstances.

Lubinets added that the joint efforts of Ukrainian government institutions and international partners have resulted in the return of 9,726 Ukrainians through 77 prisoner exchange operations.

"Among those returned were 8,823 military personnel and 903 civilians. Some of them had previously been considered missing in action," the Commissioner stated.
