UK firms interested in data center projects in Azerbaijan

British companies are interested in implementing data center projects in Azerbaijan and are already holding talks with the government and other partners in the country, Britain's newly appointed ambassador to Azerbaijan, Duncan Norman, told a press conference, Report informs.

"The UK is one of the world's leading countries in artificial intelligence and advanced technologies. This is an area we are working on closely with Azerbaijan," the diplomat said.

According to him, data centers require large amounts of energy, creating real opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.

"British companies are currently actively negotiating with the government and other partners in Azerbaijan. I very much hope that, in the long term, we will have some really interesting news to share," Norman said.

The ambassador emphasized that he cannot yet disclose specific details of the potential projects.

"We cannot do that at the moment because the discussions are still ongoing," he explained.
