Two mine detection dogs to be acquired for operations in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan will acquire two mine detection dogs to support ongoing demining operations, the Azerbaijan Campaign Against Landmines Public Union told Report.

The initiative is being implemented with financial support from the Embassy of Canada in Türkiye, Azerbaijan, and Georgia under a new project titled Accelerating Mine Clearance Through Mine Detection Dogs.

The project aims to prevent new mine victims in liberated territories and to speed up clearance for agricultural and infrastructure projects.

It was noted that the two dogs will undergo procedures in line with international standards before being deployed in operations carried out by the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA).
