TURKPA, Global Council for Tolerance and Peace sign protocol

A Protocol of Intent defining the main areas of future cooperation between the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA) and the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP) has been signed.
Report informs that the protocol was signed by TURKPA Secretary General Ramil Hasan and GCTP President Ahmed Bin Mohammed Al-Jarwan.
Speaking at the signing ceremony held at the TURKPA International Secretariat, the secretary general said he highly valued relations with the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace. He noted that the GCTP, which promotes friendship, mutual cooperation, peace and security, has so far signed protocols of intent with more than 40 parliaments and international organizations around the world.
The secretary general emphasized that the document represents a useful and exemplary model of cooperation in terms of developing relations between international parliamentary organizations, one of the important areas of parliamentary diplomacy.
Ahmed Bin Mohammed Al-Jarwan drew attention to the importance of organizing joint international conferences and coordinated activity on various international platforms. He expressed confidence that the signed document would contribute to further strengthening relations with TURKPA and creating new cooperation opportunities.
Ramil Hasan said the Protocol of Intent would make an important contribution to raising relations between the sides to a new level and implementing joint projects aimed at strengthening peace, mutual understanding and stability in the region and the world.
