The creation of a "Turkic Schengen" was discussed at the 3rd meeting of the Ministers of Internal Affairs of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) in Astana.
Report informs, citing Hürriyet, that Turkish Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi said work is underway to establish separate passport control points at airports in Turkic states for citizens of OTS member countries.
"Such a practice exists in the Eurozone: we see that citizens of the European Union pass through one passport control point, while citizens of other countries pass through another. Our work to create a similar system among Turkic states is continuing," he stressed.
