Turkish Deputy FM: Azerbaijan makes significant contributions to OIC

Azerbaijan is one of the member states that provides significant support to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) through both its active participation and financial contributions, Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Musa Kulaklıkaya told Reportəs Türkiye bureau.

Kulaklıkaya, who served as Director General of SESRIC (2015–2019) and as OIC Assistant Secretary-General for Administrative and Financial Affairs, said that during his tenure, he witnessed Azerbaijan's active support:

"The start of the 20th Session of the Parliamentary Union of OIC Member States in Baku on June 22 also confirms this. Azerbaijan, as an active member, will host the OIC Summit as well. Azerbaijani cities are periodically declared capitals of the Islamic world in various fields – such as Islamic Culture Capital, Youth Capital, and Tourism Capital – placing Azerbaijan at the forefront of major OIC projects. In doing so, Azerbaijan not only showcases its potential to the world but also sets an example for other Muslim countries. Therefore, Azerbaijan holds special importance both within the OIC and in the Islamic world overall. We have always witnessed Azerbaijan's positive and constructive approaches."

Highlighting the successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye within the OIC, the official added: "Azerbaijan and Türkiye achieve successful results through cooperation and solidarity in all areas, and I believe this solidarity will continue within the OIC as well."

From June 22 through 25, under Türkiye's chairmanship of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, and with the patronage of the Ministry of Family and Social Services, a four-day program titled Partnership for the Future – 2026 was held in Ankara.

Musa Kulaklıkaya delivered a speech at the event on the role and leadership of women in the Islamic world.
