Tokayev thanks Aliyev for supporting increased exports of Kazakh oil to Europe

It is necessary to utilize the potential of the Organization (OTS) to diversify supply chains for oil, gas, uranium, and other goods in demand on global markets, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said during the informal summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Budapest on Wednesday, Report informs, citing Akorda.

"Tokayev expressed gratitude to the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, for supporting Kazakhstan's efforts aimed at increasing oil exports to Europe," the statement said.

In addition, the Kazakh leader noted that international experts have recently been discussing the initiative to build the Trans-Caspian oil and gas pipeline. According to him, such large-scale projects require coordinated action at the transnational level.

Among the promising areas within the OTS framework, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev highlighted digitalization and information technologies.

In particular, he announced the start of laying a fiber-optic cable across the Caspian Sea, which will significantly strengthen digital connectivity in the region.

The president also emphasized the need for joint responses to the increasing number of natural disasters. As an example, he cited the significant decline in the level of the Caspian Sea, which has a serious negative impact on the environment, economy, and quality of life.

"In this regard, he called on Turkic countries to conduct joint research and develop common environmental solutions," the statement stressed.
