There are still insidious plans by various centers against Azerbaijan and its allies, according to former Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, Tofig Zulfugarov, Report informs.
Speaking at a roundtable organized by the Media Development Agency under the theme "President Ilham Aliyev's peace strategy is the guarantor of stability", Zulfugarov recalled that despite years of occupation and military aggression against Azerbaijan, Armenia faced no pressure and was even supported, which prolonged the occupation:
"During the Patriotic War, Azerbaijan exercised its right under international law to respond to the aggressor."
He criticized the OSCE Minsk Group, saying its purpose was not to resolve the conflict but to influence Azerbaijan and Armenia:
"President Ilham Aliyev gave a precise assessment of this body and analyzed it. The Minsk Group was created to manage the region through conflict and had plans related to exploiting Azerbaijan's energy resources. This system, which was against Azerbaijan's sovereignty, has now been removed from our territory."
Zulfugarov stressed that even after the war, some major players tried to implement new schemes against Azerbaijan: "They attempted to create a focal point to continue their activities against Azerbaijan. Our victory is a great triumph, but we must remain sensitive and vigilant. Various centers still have certain insidious plans against Azerbaijan and its allies."
