Tobias Lorentzson: Sweden ready to share sustainable construction expertise with Azerbaijan

Sweden's experience in low-carbon construction can contribute to the development of cooperation with Azerbaijan in sustainable construction, innovation and urban development.

Report informs that Swedish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Tobias Lorentzson said this at the Woodlife Sweden exhibition, organized in partnership with ADA University and dedicated to modern Swedish architecture.

"Sweden's experience in renewable materials and low-carbon construction is valuable for the global urban agenda and can contribute to the development of cooperation between Sweden and Azerbaijan in sustainable construction, innovation and urban development," he said.

According to Lorentzson, the exhibition is taking place at a particularly important time, as Azerbaijan prepares to host international experts, policymakers and city leaders as part of WUF13.

Woodlife Sweden, a project developed by the Swedish Institute together with leading Swedish organizations in architecture and design, presents 48 innovative wooden architecture projects from across Sweden.

The exhibition highlights the country's leading role in sustainable construction and demonstrates how modern wood technologies contribute to climate-oriented urban development in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The event brought together architects, designers, urban planners, developers, academics and representatives of government agencies, strengthening interaction ahead of the forum.

The exhibition will run until May 26, 2026.
