Sultan Hajiyev: Azerbaijan, African countries have potential to expand partnership

Azerbaijan's cooperation with African countries is based on the principle of complementing existing potential, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Kenya Sultan Hajiyev said at an event in Baku on Monday dedicated to Africa Day 2026, Report informs.

According to the diplomat, many African countries are already demonstrating significant success and, in fact, "setting an example of what can be achieved even in the most challenging conditions."

He noted that the development of a partnership between Azerbaijan and African countries is based on the comparison and complementarity of potential: "What our partners can do and what Azerbaijan is doing is a comparison of the elements we see in Africa that can complement what Azerbaijan has to offer."

Hajiyev also noted that a number of African countries continue to face serious crises and emergencies that require international attention and support.
