Speaker of Sri Lankan Parliament: Asian region facing water crisis

Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana, the Speaker of the Parliament of Sri Lanka, emphasized the importance of solving issues such as the water problem in the Asian region, Report informs.
"I think Asia is a sleeping giant. We must be persistent in our actions to achieve our desired goals. We do not want the Asian region to face problems, the peoples of the region to confront issues such as some illegal surgeries and water problems. We must do our best to wake up and revive Asia," he said during his speech at the 14th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly held in Baku.
