Slovakia, Azerbaijan working to expand energy cooperation

Slovakia and Azerbaijan are working to expand cooperation in the energy sector, Slovakia's Ambassador to Azerbaijan Elchin Gasimov said at an event dedicated to the country's Constitution Day and Armed Forces Day.

According to Report, Gasimov said Azerbaijan had previously demonstrated solidarity by showing readiness to supply natural gas to Slovakia during the energy crisis.

"We are working together to find stable and long-term solutions for the future," he said.

Gasimov also highlighted the participation of Slovak companies in the reconstruction of Azerbaijan's liberated territories.

"We are proud of the active involvement of Slovak companies in the reconstruction of post-conflict regions, particularly in the Smart Village project in Bash Garvand and in the construction of a school that will bear the name of General Milan Rastislav Štefánik," the ambassador said.

He noted that these projects were helping establish a long-term Slovak presence and legacy in Azerbaijan.

Gasimov also said a direct air connection between the two countries would be established in the near future.

"This will bring our countries even closer and help develop ties between people, businesses and students," he added.
