Azerbaijan continues to take consistent steps to raise international awareness of the issue of missing persons, stated Deputy Chief of the State Security Service, Lieutenant General Sharafat Hasanov, at the international conference on "Enhancing Cooperation and Advancing Modern in Addressing the Issue of Missing Persons" held in Baku.
According to Report, he noted that since 2023 Azerbaijan has been actively hosting international events dedicated to the topic, adding that further discussions are planned this year.
"In October this year, another international conference on missing persons will be held within the framework of the Baku Dialogue," he said. "It is important to emphasize that the final documents of international conferences held in Azerbaijan in 2024 and 2025 were distributed as official documents of the UN General Assembly and the Security Council. This shows the importance that UN structures attach to the attention Azerbaijan gives to the issue of missing persons."
The deputy chairman stressed that the state continues its efforts to ensure that the issue remains on the global agenda and to strengthen international cooperation in this field.
