Sergeyenko: Belarus grateful to Ilham Aliyev for traditional hospitality

Belarus expresses gratitude to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for the excellent organization of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) and his traditional hospitality, Igor Sergeyenko, chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, said at the WUF13 Leaders' Summit, Report informs.

"On behalf of the Belarusian delegation, I express gratitude to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and the WUF13 organizers for the excellent preparation of the forum and their traditional hospitality," he said.

According to him, Belarus prioritizes reducing carbon dioxide emissions and the negative impact on the environment, as well as expanding the use of renewable energy sources.

"The current session coincides with the tenth anniversary of the New Urban Development Program. This period has been a time of searching for optimal solutions. Today, it is important to consolidate the results achieved and set new benchmarks. Belarus is open to sincere dialogue and equal partnership, and is ready to work with you to find solutions to the challenges of modern urbanism. Only by joining forces and listening to each other can we build cities designed for prosperous living," he stated.
