Serdar Berdimuhamedov: CIS format has proven to be attractive platform for consultations

The CIS format has proven to be an attractive platform for consultations on topical international issues, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov said at a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS, Report's correspondent in Turkmenbashi informs.

According to him, the meeting in Avaza is taking place during a significant period - the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

"Summing up some results of the journey traveled, we can responsibly state that the Commonwealth of Independent States has passed it with dignity. Despite objective difficulties, we managed to preserve the foundation of cooperation and ensure its equal, respectful, and mutually beneficial nature," he said.

The head of Turkmenistan noted that trade and economic ties between the CIS countries are developing consistently, with a positive dynamic in total trade turnover observed in recent years.

According to him, the agenda of political and diplomatic interaction is expanding, and the CIS format has established itself as an attractive platform for consultations on current international issues.

Berdimuhamedov also emphasized that humanitarian cooperation covers a wide range of areas, including culture, science, education, and sports.
