Saudi Arabia plans to plant billions of trees across the Middle East, Abdullah J. Alharbi, a representative of the Quality of Life Program Center of Saudi Arabia, said during a panel discussion within the framework of WUF13.
Report quotes him as saying more than 151 million trees have already been planted under the Saudi Green Initiative, launched in 2021.
"We aim to plant billions of trees across the Middle East," Alharbi said.
He emphasized that the development of green spaces simultaneously contributes to improving quality of life and strengthening the climate resilience of cities.
"If people are at the center of development and transformation, then environmental benefits will follow naturally," the Saudi representative stated.
