Sarajevo's experience in combating climate change discussed at WUF13

The culture of dialogue is as important in urban planning as other factors, Derviš Hadžimuhamedović, Project Manager in the city of Sarajevo, said at the high-level dialogue on "City Transformation in Practice: Urban Experiences for Safe and Sustainable Communities" held within the framework of the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, Report informs

According to him, the city of Sarajevo combats the problems it faces due to climate change precisely by using the culture of dialogue:

"This is not about organizing countless conferences. The issue is about making result-oriented decisions for building sustainable and safe cities. Many conferences were held and documents were adopted in Sarajevo last year."

Hadžimuhamedović also touched upon the issue of water pollution in his speech:

"We should not forget about water in the discussions being held. The decline in sea levels worldwide, the reduction of drinking water sources, as well as their pollution, pose serious challenges. Sarajevo has also faced these problems. We have set targets to take certain steps to solve these problems."
