Saida Mirziyoyeva: Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan bound by special friendship

Tashkent and Baku are bound by special friendship, Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan Saida Mirziyoyeva wrote on social media commenting on the recent visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his family to Uzbekistan, Report informs.

"Our countries are bound by special friendship," Mirziyoyeva wrote. "It is felt not only in interstate relations, but also in how warmly our peoples treat each other. We have much in common in history, culture, and traditions, and today this is complemented by new joint projects in a wide variety of areas-from infrastructure to investment."

She emphasized that the Azerbaijani leader's visit became another important page in bilateral relations.

Mirziyoyeva noted that the signed Treaty on Eternal Friendship accurately reflects the current ties between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan.

"We are delighted to welcome our Azerbaijani friends to Uzbekistan," she added. "Welcome to a country where you are always warmly expected."
