Sabina Aliyeva speaks about landmine problem in Karabakh at OIC meeting in Iran

Azerbaijan actively participates in events within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and also hosts a number of important global events, Ombudsman of Azerbaijan Sabina Aliyeva said at a meeting of the Board of the OIC Ombudsmen Association and the General Assembly of the Association in Iran, Report informs.
Aliyeva informed those present about the mandate of Azerbaijan's Ombudsman, its activities in the field of protecting human rights and freedoms, as well as the activities of the institute over the past period, spoke about the work done to protect the rights of vulnerable groups of the population, including persons with disabilities, emphasizing the importance of continuing joint work in this area.
Aliyeva particularly noted forced migration as one of the important problems of our time, emphasizing that as a result of the ethnic cleansing policy pursued by Armenia, hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijanis were forcibly expelled from their native lands, and their fundamental rights and freedoms were grossly violated.
She also touched upon the landmine problem in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan. According to the ombudsman, Armenia has not yet provided accurate maps of the planted landmines.
