Russian Ambassador: I still do not know what kind of media Fuad Abbasov represents

“I’m not deeply interested in question related to Fuad Abbasov. But I read a lot about what the Azerbaijani media write," Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mikhail Bocharnikov told Report at a press conference.

“I still don’t know what mass media citizen Fuad Abbasov represents. You know it is not about occupation. It is about a citizen of another state. After we received appeals, we inquired about the situation. We have a resolution of the Khimki court. It says that Fuad Abbasov did not leave the territory of Russia for 15 days and did not file a petition to extend the stay in the territory of the Russian Federation, " he said.

Speaking about media reports about Abbasov's beating during his arrest, the ambassador noted that "the Azerbaijani embassy immediately contacted him."

He also noted that he has no information about the period of 50 years for a ban on entry into the territory of Russia for Fuad Abbasov.

Notably, Azerbaijani journalist Fuad Abbasov has been banned from entering Russia for 50 years.

The relevant decision was made at the request of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation.

The Moscow Regional Court dismissed the complaint of Azerbaijani journalist Fuad Abbasov, leaving in force the previous decision of the court. According to the court decision, Abbasov had to be deported from the territory of the Russian Federation within 10 days.
