Russia remains committed to achieving sustainable urban development goals and continues to implement large-scale housing construction projects, Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Utilities of the Russian Federation Nikita Stasishin said at a ministry roundtable discussion as part of WUF13 in Baku.
Report quotes him as saying the construction industry is one of the key drivers of the country's economic development.
"New residential neighborhoods and social structures are being built across the country, utilities are being modernized, and public spaces are being developed," he said.
The representative of the Russian delegation noted that Russia is implementing large-scale national projects related to creating livable infrastructure.
"Over the past five years, we have built approximately 650 million square meters of housing," he emphasized.
