Despite Canada's high standard of living, not everyone benefits equally from the country's prosperity, stated Canadian government representative Cheri Reddin during a roundtable discussion held as part of WUF13 in Baku, Report informs.
Reddin noted that Indigenous peoples in Canada lag behind the general population in most socio-economic indicators.
She emphasized that over the past 10 years, the Canadian government has been working to build relations with Indigenous communities based on reconciliation and overcoming the historical injustices caused by colonial policies.
