Ralf Horlemann: Baku-Yerevan peace process - most important event in South Caucasus

The peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia has become the most significant event in the South Caucasus in recent years, German Ambassador to Azerbaijan Ralf Horlemann said at a farewell meeting with Azerbaijani journalists, Report informs.

According to Horlemann, the resolution of the conflict and the subsequent launch of the process of drafting a peace agreement between Baku and Yerevan are a significant achievement for both sides.

"This is truly major progress and an important achievement," the ambassador said.

He emphasized that supporting the peace process was one of his key priorities during his diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan.

Horlemann believes that achieving sustainable peace is in the interests not only of Azerbaijan and Armenia but of the entire region as a whole, opening up additional opportunities for expanding economic cooperation and developing trade ties between Asia and Europe.
