Prospects for further development of relations between Azerbaijan and US discussed

Baku. 11 May. REPORT.AZ/ Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov received a delegation led by President of the US Jamestown Foundation Glenn Howard.

Report was told in the Foreign Ministry, during the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the history and prospects of development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the United States.Also, issues on the regional and international agenda were discussed.Minister Elmar Mammadyarov spoke about the country's energy strategy, implementation of TANAP / TAP projects and Europe's energy security, cooperation with the US in the fight against international terrorism, transport projects with the initiative and involvement of our country, participation of our country in the NATO's Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan and transit and logistics support for the US and NATO member states for operation in Afghanistan.

At the same time, the sides exchanged views on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said that the continued occupation and occupation of Azerbaijani lands by Armenia and the presence of Armenian troops in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan are the main threats to regional peace and security.
