President Ilham Aliyev takes part in CIS meeting

A regular summit of the Commonwealth of Independent States has started in a video conference format, Report informs.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev takes part in the meeting. The head of state addressed the conference.

At the summit, the leaders will focus on the current state and prospects of cooperation in the political, trade, economic, social, and cultural spheres within the CIS. The sides are also discussing interactions in the fight against the spread of coronavirus infection.

Moreover, the leaders are exchanging views on current international and regional issues.

The meeting will approve an updated concept for the future development of the CIS, joint statements on cooperation in ensuring international information security, and several other documents on the occasion of the UN's 75th anniversary.

The event is presided by Uzbekistan.
