Millions of children and young people around the world continue to suffer from the lack of adequate housing and the consequences of climate change, Felipe Paullier, United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs, said in a video address delivered during WUF13 in Baku.
Report quotes him as saying housing conditions and living environments for children and youth in many cases remain unstable and uncertain.
"Millions of young people and children suffer from a lack of adequate housing, live in informal settlements, and are exposed to the consequences of climate change," the UN representative noted.
Paullier emphasized that only those cities where young people have access to quality education and employment opportunities can truly be considered sustainable.
