Pakistani PM thanks Azerbaijani, Turkish presidents for support in conflict with India

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed gratitude to the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Türkiye for supporting Pakistan in its conflict with India, Report informs.

"The world is currently going through serious economic crises and political challenges. In such a situation, Pakistan is lucky to have brothers like Azerbaijan and Türkiye. You have stood behind us like a mountain. We will always prioritize peace and justice. Our time-tested relationship will serve the well-being of our peoples. This meeting gives us a political imperative and a platform to move forward in areas of mutual interest," Sharif said during his meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday.

The prime minister stated that Pakistan stands for peace in the region. He stressed that the conflict with India must be resolved in the interests of the people of Kashmir:

"Another problem that India has created for us is related to drinking water. We hope that India will not take any steps in this direction in the future. If India is really ready for dialogue in the fight against terrorism, then Pakistan is open to this discussion. Because 90,000 citizens of Pakistan have been victims of terrorism and our economy has suffered $150 billion in damage in the last decades."
