OTS religious officials tour Shusha's historic landmarks

Heads of state bodies for religious affairs from member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) toured Shusha's historical and cultural landmarks following the first meeting of their institutions held in the city, Report informs.

The delegation began its visit at Shusha's central square, where statues of prominent Azerbaijani cultural figures Khurshidbanu Natavan, Uzeyir Hajibayli and Bulbul, which were damaged by gunfire during the Armenian occupation, are displayed.

The guests were briefed on Shusha's history before the occupation and on the restoration and reconstruction work carried out since the city was retaken.

They also visited the "Heydar Aliyev and Karabakh" photo exhibition at the Shusha Creativity Center and toured Natavan's Palace, the Khan Gizi Spring, the Shusha Fortress, the Lower Govhar Agha Mosque and the Upper Govhar Agha Mosque.

The visit concluded at Jidir Duzu, where the participants viewed the panoramic landscape overlooking the surrounding area.
