Azerbaijan and Jordan have made significant progress in strengthening air links and developing cooperation in tourism, and are preparing to sign agreements in the areas of transport and ICT, Jordanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Omar Al Nahar told Report.
"Significant work has already been done by both sides to strengthen air connectivity and tourism cooperation between Jordan and Azerbaijan. While it is not possible at this stage to provide a specific timeline regarding any increase in flight frequency, direct charter flights currently operate once a week between the two countries for the summer period," he noted.
The ambassador also added that the relevant ministries of the two countries, coordinated by their embassies, continue to organize mutual visits by official delegations. Speaking about the bilateral legal framework, Omar Al Nahar noted that consultations on a number of new agreements are currently ongoing: "At this stage, discussions are ongoing regarding a number of potential bilateral agreements. While the relevant consultations are still underway, the areas under consideration include, but are not limited to, transport, information and communication technologies (ICT), and media cooperation."
The diplomat added that the Jordanian delegation is participating in the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum, which is taking place in Shusha on July 13-14.
Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Al Safadi paid an official visit to Azerbaijan on July 8.
