The war has created a unparalleled situation in Ukraine and destroyed many systems, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Kuleba said at the first-ever WUF Leaders' Summit in Baku, Report informs.
He stated that in this situation, the recovery process is of paramount importance for Ukraine.
"In the world, recovery begins after a war, but Ukraine is doing it while the war continues. Recovery begins with people," Kuleba said.
He noted that a housing crisis exists worldwide, but in Ukraine, the situation is exacerbated by the war.
"About 40% of the housing stock has been destroyed. Nearly 6 million Ukrainians have been forced to flee their homes. About 41,000 multi-story buildings have been destroyed. Ukraine is creating a new model for how a city can function in the face of war and a humanitarian crisis," the deputy prime minister emphasized.
