Russia's News.ru news portal carries an article dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Khojaly tragedy. Report informs that the portal also posted this article on its Telegram channel.
The article starts with the fact that 30 years ago, the Armenian armed forces occupied Khojaly and killed Azerbaijani residents, adding views of witnesses and officials from the same region.
Durdana Agayeva, 50, says she was held captive by Armenians for eight days, which seemed to her as eight years.
“Together with my little brother Elshad, I was taken hostage in the village of Garagaya by our former neighbor, who instantly became an enemy. I can't forget those moments. I still clearly remember how Armenians killed a pregnant woman in front of my eyes and wounded me and my brother. Since then, I feel like a living dead, as if I died in that terrible night."
Elman Mammadov, a resident of Khojaly and a former head of the village council, who is now a member of the Milli Majlis, said that he treated the events of 1992 not only as of the grief of those who lived during those years but also of those born later and current generations.
“This cannot be forgotten. After all, this is not a chapter in a history textbook. Twenty days after the incident, I found the bodies of my mother and two grandmothers in a forest. How can I forget that?!”
