Mukhtar Babayev, UN official discuss sustainable water management

Azerbaijan's presidential representative on climate issues Mukhtar Babayev met with Nasar Hayat, representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Azerbaijan.

Babayev said on X that the meeting included a valuable discussion on sustainable water resources management, including in shared water basins, and the growing importance of integrated approaches linking water, agriculture and climate resilience.

The sides also discussed opportunities to further strengthen cooperation with FAO in supporting climate adaptation efforts, sustainable water governance and regional cooperation in responding to growing climate-related challenges.
