Morocco concerned the deterioration of relations between Arab countries with Qatar

Baku. 12 June. REPORT.AZ/ The Kingdom of Morocco is concerned the deterioration in recent days of the relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, Egypt and other Arab countries and the State of Qatar, Report informs citing Morocco embassy in Azerbaijan.

"Since the outbreak of the crisis, His Majesty King Mohammed VI – may Allah assists Him - has maintained close and permanent contact with the various parties. Due to the strong personal bonds of sincere brotherhood and mutual consideration between His Majesty King Mohammed VI – may Allah preserve Him - and His brothers, Kings and Emirs of the Gulf countries, and taking into account the unique strategic partnership with the GCC states, the Kingdom of Morocco has been careful not to engage in public statements and hasty positions which only reinforce discord and deepen differences. His Majesty the King has thus called upon all parties to exercise restraint and wisdom in order to reduce tension, to overcome this crisis and to finally settle the causes which led to it, in accordance with the spirit which has always prevailed within the GCC. The Kingdom of Morocco, strongly linked to the Gulf countries in all fields, but sufficiently distant geographically, feels intimately concerned by this crisis without being directly involved. The Kingdom favors constructive neutrality, which must not confine it to the passive observation of an alarming escalation between brotherly countries. Therefore, if the parties so desire, the Kingdom of Morocco is ready to offer its good offices with a view to fostering a frank and comprehensive dialogue on the basis of non-interference in internal affairs, the fight against religious extremism, clarity in positions and loyalty in commitments. The Kingdom of Morocco hopes that this holy month of Ramadan will inspire everyone with the spirit of solidarity and concord that is necessary to overcome the current disagreements so that the GCC remains a model of regional coordination and an engine of common Arab action". - the statement said.
