Mongolia expects direct flights with Azerbaijan to launch soon

Mongolia expects direct air services with Azerbaijan to be launched soon.

According to Mongolian media outlets, cited by Report, direct flights between the two countries could operate from six Azerbaijani cities to three cities in Mongolia.

The cities are Baku, Ganja, Nakhchivan, Lankaran, Gabala and Zagatala, as well as Ulaanbaatar, Khovd and Choibalsan.

Mongolian media outlets note that flights could begin operating in the near future. Mongolian airlines will also be authorized to operate flights to six Azerbaijani cities.

The parties have also agreed to designate one or more airlines and allow cooperation through codesharing.

Today the relevant committee of the Azerbaijani Milli Majlis discussed the air services agreement with Mongolia. The document will create a legal framework for passenger and cargo transportation, as well as the carriage of baggage and mail between the two countries.
