Ministers discuss Azerbaijan-Türkiye cooperation in renewable energy sector

Economy Minister of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov met with Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat during his visit to Türkiye, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijani Economy Ministry.

The meeting emphasized that economic cooperation has developed in all directions thanks to the efforts of both countries' heads of state and brotherly relations.

It was stresssed that Türkiye is Azerbaijan's second main trade and export partner, and increasing the number of products receiving concessions under the Preferential Trade Agreement promotes growth in trade relations. Turkish companies were invited to take advantage of the favorable business environment created in industrial parks in Azerbaijan's liberated territories.

The parties discussed existing opportunities to achieve common goals in strengthening Azerbaijan-Türkiye economic partnership, increasing trade turnover, actively supporting relations between SMEs and business units, and promoting investments.

During his visit to Türkiye, Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov also met with Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar. The meeting emphasized the expansion of economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye, and that the two countries have implemented many important projects, especially in the energy sector. It was noted that cooperation in the energy sector contributes not only to the economies of both countries but also to the region, particularly to Europe's energy security. Projects implemented in the green energy sector in Azerbaijan were brought to attention. Discussions were held on expanding cooperation in renewable energy, increasing green investments, and realizing cooperation potential.
