Member of Press Council Board: Armenia doesn’t want peace, continues its provocations

During the Second Karabakh War, Azerbaijan inflicted very heavy blows on Armenia in the information war, just as it did on the frontline, Hajibay Heydarli, a member of the Board of the Press Council of Azerbaijan, stated at the OSCE conference in Vienna, Report informs.

Speaking at the conference themed "The Role of Media in Times of Conflict and Humanitarian Crises,” Heydarli noted that during the 44-day Patriotic War, President Ilham Aliyev's interviews with foreign media prevented disinformation against Azerbaijan:

"President Ilham Aliyev told the truth about the war through his interviews in Azerbaijani, Turkish, Russian, and English languages, and prevented disinformation and fake news against Azerbaijan."

He also highlighted that a campaign against Azerbaijan is still being conducted in some foreign media today:

"Unfortunately, the disinformation campaign against Azerbaijan continues today. The Armenian side is trying to deceive the world community with fake news. At a time when peace negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia are ongoing, Armenia has been trying to create a new conflict on the border in recent days. They have repeatedly fired on Azerbaijan's positions over the past few days. This shows that Armenia does not want peace and continues its provocations."
